Artificial Intelligence-Machine Learning (AI-ML), Concerto 3-Channels Closed-Loop Automated System
摘要
In the future, Artificial Intelligence-Machine Learning (AI-ML) will not take your job, but for sure your job will be taken by somebody who can use Artificial Intelligence (AI). Nowadays we are living in the era of newly developed technologies in anesthesiology. We titrate anesthetic agents’ administrations to the exact patients’ physiological requirements and the undergoing surgical needs using a range of modern sophisticated anesthetic equipment. Several processed Electroencephalography-Depth Of Anesthesia (pEEG-DOA) monitors have been suggested as possible objective alternatives to provide real-time Depth of Anesthesia (DOA) monitoring clinical assessment tools. In modern anesthesia, patients’ safety, which takes the highest priority, is coupled with innovative advanced technologies. These advanced technologies laid the groundwork for innovative practices such as Target Controlled Infusion (TCI) systems and 3-Channel Closed-Loop administration of hypnotic anesthetic agents, Nociception Anti-Nociception Balance (NANB) analgesic agents, and Neuromuscular Blocking Agents (NMBAs). A classic Closed-Loop system would typically consist of three main components: an output of a patient’s specific effect that is detected and accurately quantified by reliable monitoring of feedback from sensitive sensors; the input in the form of continuous variables that are supposed to produce very specific desired effects on the patient in the form of a hypnotic anesthetic agent, NANB analgesic agent, NMBAs that are continuously and accurately titrated to produce the precise desired effects; and a computer processor actuator control center that would continuously manipulate the input infusion pump according to the constantly changing sensors’ output feedback. The Closed-Loop systems then aim at establishing the set-points’ variables as precise as possible, to be continuously maintained over any given period of time.
