There is probably not a single industry that is not staring at artificial intelligence (AI) and asking itself how this generative new tool will transform the way we currently run our businesses. AI is at the very heart of the Third Industrial Revolution, which is currently under way. It is transforming our global community from a production to a knowledge society, with electrical energy entirely and permanently replacing fossil fuels. There is no doubt that AI will also have a major effect on branding and as a matter of fact, this is already the case. Maybe AI’s greatest contribution to branding is and continues to be its ability to produce highly personalized and pertinent communications that stand in stark contrast to the one-size-fits-all approach to mass marketing techniques, which dominated the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries: imaging both in still and video, messaging, ID design, sentiment analysis, targeting, preference scouting, predictive analysis, and so on. The use of AI is quickly expanding in branding as well. Its almost unlimited capacity to crunch data at an ever faster pace makes it the perfect technology to develop and target highly pertinent brand content, individually delivered to a designated target consumer. Although this progress is still ongoing, this chapter attempts to project branding into the world of AI-driven technologies, some of which are very concrete and others hypothetical for the time being.

摘要
