Introduction
摘要
Why do so many brands fail to gain traction in their respective markets? While poor product performance, weaknesses in distribution, a lack of resources, and/or competitive action can all play a decisive role, often the brand itself is at fault. Today, too many brands either fail to define what they truly stand for or lack the focus in marketing and communication to undeniably claim their difference with enough clarity and consistency to stress their relevance. The time and effort that go into defining the brand positioning may impact a brand’s success for years to come. Brands must be built on a single-minded meaning, with absolute consistency in messaging and product quality. Only this will produce recurrent and homogeneous consumer experiences over time, which are indispensable for developing a strong brand. The purpose of this introductory chapter is to acquaint readers with the underlying principles of successful branding and their application in marketing and sales action. It will also provide a first glimpse at the new and unique one-word branding methodology.
