The fauna of the subfamily Ophioninae Shuckard, 1840, in the Middle East includes 108 species in seven genera, of which Enicospilus Stephens, 1835, and Ophion Fabricius, 1798, with 51 and 47 recorded species, respectively, are the most species-rich genera. Also, the fauna of Iran with 72 recorded species within 7 genera is the most diverse among the Middle Eastern countries, followed by Turkey (28 species), Israel-Palestine (27 species), Saudi Arabia (24 species), Egypt (21 species), Yemen (8 species), Cyprus, Jordan, Lebanon (each with 2 species), Iraq, and Syria (1 species each).
