Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea) are one of the most diverse families of the animal kingdom. Most Ichneumonidae species are solitary parasitoids of various arthropod hosts including several pest insects; hence they are an exceptionally important group of potential biocontrol agents. The Middle East with an area of about 8,800,000 km2 comprises 16 countries with various geographical regions and climates, and consequently a diverse fauna of Ichneumonidae.
