Topics covered in previous chapters are drawn together to illustrate how using a psychosocial approach has helped in understanding experiences within adulthood and older age. Experiences during early adaptation, parenthood, midlife, and continued caring roles are acknowledged as well as appreciation of the value of neurodiversity and support when facing loss and grief. Specific note is taken of how additional, intersecting vulnerabilities increase challenges faced by some groups, particularly during older age due to marginalisation within an age-segregated society, increasingly relying on technology during a post-Covid era. Reference is made to how harnessing resilience aids survival within the utilitarian-based Western society, in which the worthiness of people is measured in terms of their image and contribution to the good of the whole society.

摘要
