Promoting Millet-Based Products for Enhanced Health and Immunity: Towards a Resilient World
摘要
Nutrient-rich grains are fast making a resurgence in Indian agriculture after decades of institutional neglect. These cereals were disregarded by development groups and farmers who preferred to grow rice, wheat, and other crops like oilseeds and pulses. When growing on poor soil, millets need less water, fertilizer, and pesticides to thrive. Because they can withstand higher temperatures, they are the best option for “climate-smart” cereals. China, India, and Nigeria are the world’s top producers of millets, accounting for about 55% of global production. Millets are a good choice since they are high in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Common cereals like millets may be a good source of nutrients that support immunity. This is particularly relevant in view of the ongoing Covid-19 virus outbreak. The purpose of this research is to ascertain the customers’ knowledge level that motivates them to use goods based on millet or millets. There were 220 responders in the survey. According to the study’s results, the majority of them planned to include millets in their regular diet since they were aware of their health advantages.
