Empowering Millet Entrepreneurs: A Focus on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
摘要
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared 2023 as the International Year of Millets to create awareness about the nutritional facts of millets, encourage entrepreneurs and investors to invest in research and development to improve the quality and sustainable production of millets. These crops are rich in nutrients and are wholesome foods as they provide a different and ecological source of nutrients. As part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations, for addressing global issues and promoting sustainable development, it is essential to support millet cultivation. It not only helps promote economic growth but also eradicates hunger, promotes good health and well-being, provides clean water and sanitation, and contributes to industry, innovation, and infrastructure, as well as viable cities, communities, and climate action. This chapter identifies and highlights various challenges and opportunities to empower millet entrepreneurs.
