Food Security and Climate Change in India
摘要
In this paper author tried to verify the relationship between climate change and food security in India during 1990–2023 applying cointegration and vector error correction model where temperature change, emission from agricultural land use, average rainfall, emissions from CO2 and emission from methane are considered as determinants of climate change and food supply in kilo calorie per capita per day is considered as indicator of food security. The paper observed that average rainfall, emissions from CO2 and emission from methane have significant long run causality with food supply in kilo calorie per capita per day which has also short causality with temperature change and average rainfall. The cointegrating relationships converge towards equilibrium significantly.
