This chapter explores the “Collections du Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec” (MNBAQ) dataset, comprising about 40,000 artworks. The analysis includes importing the dataset into R, exploring its structure, and visualizing distributions across various dimensions such as departments, collections, categories, and subjects. Key insights include the prominence of the “Art moderne” department and the prevalence of categories like Design and Photography. Using pie charts, bar plots, and histograms, the chapter illustrates the diversity of artists, titles, techniques, and geographical origins.
