Agile project management, which refers to a set of project management frameworks that are increasingly common in various industries, can create a balance between stability and dynamism successfully dealing with the difficulties faced by project demands driven by rapid technological advancements and the requirements for flexible adaptation to change. Agile project management, which is flexible and responsive for managing projects, works in phases, prioritizes feedback, and implements incremental changes to finish projects fast and improve customer satisfaction. Agile project management approaches are iterative and feedback-driven for completing and delivering successful projects. From these standpoints, this study aims to provide an overview of agile project management and shed light on agility. The scope of this paper includes comparative challenges: Considering differentiating aspects, agile project management methodology and waterfall methodology are compared. Besides, agile project management approaches, Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, Crystal, and Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM), are also compared. This study can be a guideline to help determination of the convenient methodologies.
