摘要
This chapter investigates numerous environmental issues, with a focus on conservation, water resources, and the overall environmental effect of human activities. Topics including deforestation, climate change, light pollution, waste management, and urbanization emphasize the fragile balance between economic expansion and environmental sustainability. The conversation also covers Lebanon’s environmental issues, such as the Naameh landfill catastrophe, open-burning habits, and the debate over electric bikes and scooters as pollution remedies. Water-related concerns such as overfishing, shortages, and wastewater reclamation highlight the importance of sustainable resource management. This chapter also dives into technology solutions such as geoengineering and renewable energy transitions, as well as the economic and societal trade-offs associated with environmental regulations. This chapter promotes critical thinking about the future of environmental protection and sustainable development by offering several points of view.
