Here, we offer some concluding remarks on Brazilian environmental law. Brazilian environmental law took shape in 1980 with the establishment of the National Environmental Policy under Law n. 6.938/81. From that point forward, environmental law in Brazil evolved significantly, particularly as the 1988 Constitution imposed upon public authorities and society the duty to protect the environment for the benefit of present and future generations.

Here, we offer some concluding remarks on Brazilian environmental law.
