Exploring the Intersection of Cyberbullying and Digital Addiction
摘要
This chapter investigates the relationship between cyberbullying and problematic use of digital media among adolescents aged 10 to 19. Cyberbullying, involving repeated and intentional digital aggression, is magnified by anonymity and public exposure. A rapid review of 20 studies (2020–2024) reveals a strong link between excessive media use and increased risks of both victimization and perpetration. Key findings show that gender, mental health issues, and lack of social support elevate vulnerability to cyberbullying. Conversely, factors like family interactions, emotional regulation skills, and active parental mediation reduce these risks. The chapter highlights how digital media usage shapes adolescent behavior, often leading to negative psychological outcomes. The study underscores the need for strategies such as digital literacy promotion, supportive environments, and mental health interventions. These approaches are critical to mitigating cyberbullying and fostering healthier online interactions.
