Financial Inclusion
摘要
Financial inclusion has emerged as a cornerstone of global development, enabling underserved populations to access essential financial services and contribute to economic growth. This chapter explores the role of impact investing in advancing financial inclusion, highlighting its potential to bridge systemic gaps in access to credit, savings, insurance, and payment services. The discussion examines the alignment of financial inclusion with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasising its contributions to poverty reduction, gender equality, and economic resilience. The chapter further analyses the evolving landscape of impact investing, focusing on key investment vehicles such as Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), fintech solutions, and blended finance models that de-risk investments in underserved markets. Through case studies and empirical insights, the chapter illustrates how impact capital is transforming financial ecosystems by fostering inclusive, scalable, and technology-driven solutions. Despite the progress, significant challenges remain, including regulatory constraints, financial literacy gaps, and infrastructure limitations. Addressing these barriers requires a multi-stakeholder approach, leveraging policy innovation, Public–Private Partnerships, and digital finance advancements. This chapter underscores the transformative potential of impact investing in accelerating universal financial inclusion, offering a strategic pathway towards equitable and sustainable economic development.
