When the variational wave function is searched for in the form of a single Slater determinant, the resultant variational method is called the Hartree-Fock method. In this chapter we introduce the notion of the Fermi vacuum and use it to derive the Hartree-Fock equations in the spin-orbital and spin-restricted forms. Further, we examine the stability of the Hartree-Fock solution.

摘要

When the variational wave function is searched for in the form of a single Slater determinant, the resultant variational method is called the Hartree-Fock method. In this chapter we introduce the notion of the Fermi vacuum and use it to derive the Hartree-Fock equations in the spin-orbital and spin-restricted forms. Further, we examine the stability of the Hartree-Fock solution.
