Wind turbines are exposed to particular stresses. At first glance, stability during heavy storms and hurricanes seems to be the main problem. However, the continuous, alternating loads - even in normal wind conditions - are just as problematic. Alternating loads are harder to bear than static loads, they “fatigue” the material.
