Physical Principles of Wind Energy Conversion
摘要
The primary component of a wind turbine is an energy converter that converts the kinetic energy of the air, the wind, into mechanical work. How this energy converter is designed in detail is initially still indifferent. The process of extracting mechanical work from an air stream with the help of a disc-shaped, rotating wind energy converter follows its own fundamental laws. This was already recognised in the nineteenth century by the physicists Froude and Rankin.
