Internet of Things-Based Water Quality Monitoring System for Brackish Water Fishponds
摘要
Aquaculture plays a vital role in the economies of developing countries like the Philippines. For fish farmers, monitoring and managing fishponds, specifically the water quality, often poses challenges. Manual monitoring of parameters like temperature, pH, salinity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, and water levels can lead to resource wastage and production losses. This research developed an IoT-based water quality monitoring solution to address these issues. The system uses sensors to collect real-time water quality data and alerts the fishpond owner when parameters deviate from optimal ranges. Designed to enable remote monitoring, the solution helps fishpond owners make data-driven decisions to improve fishpond output. Laboratory tests and participant evaluations showed that the device is functional and beneficial, receiving high ratings across all parameters. This effort aims to enhance aquaculture productivity through innovation in the local context.
