Stroke is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. In Portugal, it stands out as one of the main causes of loss of years of healthy life, pre-stroke death, illness or disability. The Rehabilitation Nurse Specialist (RNS) plays a fundamental role in the functional recovery of stroke patients, boosting their autonomy in activities of daily living (ADLs) and quality of life. Therefore, it’s important to know the indicators that are sensitive to specialized Rehabilitation Nursing (RN) care, in order to assess health gains. Objective: To map the indicators that are sensitive to specialized rehabilitation nursing care in promoting self-care for people with stroke. Methodology: Systematic literature review (SLR), using PubMED and EBSCOhost search engines (Medline ultimate and CINAHL ultimate), in December 2023. The descriptors used were accompanied by the Boolean operators “OR” and “AND” and the PICO strategy was used. Results: After analyzing the articles, it was possible to identify 30 indicators sensitive to RN care, with outcome indicators standing out as the most preponderant for achieving health gains. Conclusions: The recovery of functionality and the promotion of self-care should guide the interventions of the EHEA, and sensitive indicators are used to reflect the positive impact of these interventions.
