This chapter introduces the standard practices for the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR). I explore the process of science and compare it with the practice of pseudoscience. Today the boundaries between truth and falsehoods and lies, between science and pseudoscience are becoming distorted and subsequently weakened. The difference between facts and opinions are becoming less distinct. In fact, science today is coming under increasingly severe attacks. I have developed a course on the “Responsible Conduct of Research” and have taught it as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and at universities in other countries.
