Industrial companies face the challenge of maintaining high operational efficiency and competitiveness. In response to this challenge, lean manufacturing (LM) has become an important method to optimize production processes and eliminate waste. Adapting LM practices in organizations helps achieve higher product quality and accelerate delivery times, resulting in a competitive advantage. In this context, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) focuses on maximizing equipment performance and minimizing downtime. This paper presents a study of TPM implementation in a non-metallic mining industry to improve overall equipment efficiency (OEE). The project uses field research, qualitative and quantitative methods, data processing, and performance indicator analysis. The results show significant improvements in OEE and operational efficiency and marked improvements in equipment reliability and productivity. The implementation of TPM highlights its importance as a strategic tool that is applied in four phases: preparation, implementation, deployment, and consolidation for successful development. It also results in an improvement of equipment efficiency in machine OEE of up to 13%. These results can be helpful for researchers and practitioners to implement in other companies in this industrial sector.
