Parenting styles play a crucial role in developing creative thinking in children and adolescents, shaping their growth through parental beliefs. This study focused on a systematic review of thirty-four articles comparing authoritarian and authoritative parenting styles. Methodologically, the Scopus database was utilized, and the PRISMA protocol was applied to classify articles published from 2014 to 2023. The results encompass a diverse population: parents (aged 20–67), children, and adolescents (aged 3–25). Critical topics highlighted include academic performance, public education, and private tutoring in cognitive development. The significance of parental stress, child temperament, and behavioral issues is underscored regarding socioemotional development. Parenting strategies involving social media use and children’s physical and mental health are also explored. These factors are analyzed in relation to different parenting styles. Future research is suggested to consider aspects such as interculturality, family economic factors, the impact of technological applications, and online education.
