Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that causes deficits in the communication and social interaction of people who suffer from it. Therefore, the present study analyzes behavioral modification as a form of treatment for autism; for this purpose, a systematic literature review is performed, and the collection of information was carried out using the Scopus database and following the PRISMA protocol. Therefore, publications between 2014 and 2023 were selected. During this period, a significant increase in the frequency of publications was observed, especially in areas related to school inclusion and the management of emotional changes in children with ASD. The findings indicate that the process of educational inclusion for children diagnosed with ASD is closely linked to early intervention and appropriate treatment through applied behavioral therapies, including ABA, PRT-P, DTT, BISPA, and behavioral parent training, which are effective in improving the behavior, social skills and school integration of children with ASD. The article highlights the need for future research that continues to explore the effectiveness of these interventions and the development of inclusive educational policies and practices. These policies should facilitate the academic and social integration and success of children with ASD by promoting a holistic approach that addresses academic skills and the social and emotional skills necessary for successful inclusion.
