We started our journey by noting that there are few precise accounts of reasoning with reasons available in the literature. Most hints found in the literature, in fact, point to a vague process of weighing, or balancing reasons, stopping short of giving a clear account of what precisely is supposed to happen. When pressed, some would say this is just a metaphor, some would even venture to say that such deliberation process cannot be captured in a precise way. Following the deeper commitments of some theorists, it may even be probable that some would say that the fact that such a process cannot be captured precisely is a mark of human rationality, or free will, etc.
