Numerical Modelling and Analysis of a Novel Axial-Type Piezoelectric Energy Generator for Variable Load Conditions
摘要
This study presents a comprehensive numerical approach to modelling the oscillations of a novel axial-type piezoelectric energyPiezoelectric energy generator. The generator features a set of cylindrical piezoelectric elements along with a piezoelectric bimorph element, strategicallyDesign designed to optimize energy harvestingEnergy harvesting under varying load conditions. Using the finite element (FE) ANSYSANSYS software, detailed simulations were conducted to investigate the generator performance. Modal and harmonic analyses were performed to understand the dynamic behaviour and resonant characteristics of the system. The resultsResult of the simulations were meticulously analysed to determine the generator’s efficiency in energy harvestingEnergy harvesting. The device demonstrated the ability to effectively harvest energy under both high and low load conditions. Specifically, the piezoelectric cylindrical elements were optimized for high-load conditions, while the piezoelectric bimorph elements were tailored for low-load conditions. The maximum output power was achieved under resonance conditions, which highlights the importance of tuning the system to its natural frequencies.
