A Review on Fundamentals and Applications of Rotational Triboelectric Nanogenerator (R-TENG)

Recent developments inInternet of Things (IoT) IoT, microsensors, wearable electronics, compact digital gadgets and continuous search for alternatives to disposable batteries lead to the continuous evolution in the field of ambient energy harvestingEnergy harvesting through Rotational Triboelectric NanogeneratorsRotational triboelectric nanogenerator (R-TENG) (R-TENGs). Through this work, we have examined the operating principle of triboelectric nanogenerators and presented various designsDesign of R-TENGRotational triboelectric nanogenerator (R-TENG) proposed by different researchers in its chronological development showcasing various features affecting the output performance of R-TENG and design strategies such as soft contact electrificationContact electrification, self-exciting configuration etc. Last but not the least, versatile applications of R-TENGs across multiple domains have also been reviewed comprehensively.
