This study examines the practices of digitizing manuscripts and the development of some technological tools in this area. The article focuses on the development of the field of digitization of manuscripts. Discusses the use of software for this purpose to adapt it to a specific field, the method of organizing manuscripts so that the organization is consistent and appropriate, the network development used to network these collections, the use of some hardware upgrades, and other activities aimed at improving the usability of digitized collections. This article discusses global developments in information technology, the development of digital media and its developments in order to predict the possible impact of these changes on the field of manuscript digitization. The chapter argues that more should be invested in digital technologies than in old preservation methods, which are based on the changing development of the librarian profession, as was the case in the era of information and communication technologies. It is still rich in manuscripts that reflect much of its culture and history. These manuscripts are kept as a legacy for future generations, as they are considered intellectual heritage and one of the basic sources of information. This article reviews the status of digitized manuscripts, forecasts the future development of this technological field, and discusses the achievements that have been achieved. Although the study is narrow, the final recommendations and discussed conclusions help towards new steps in manuscript digitization.
