Legal Regulations for Registering Foreign Technology Companies and Their Impact on the Investment Environment

This chapter will discuss the legal rules concerning the registration of foreign technology firms within commercial company regulations. It intends to spell out the difficulties facing foreign technology companies willing to carry on commercial activities that include obtaining work authorization from a competent authority and then registering in the foreigners’ registry as companies. The paper also intends to create more insight into the legal steps required and attendant risks of such non-compliance, also offering recommendations resulting from text analysis relative to practice-related laws in Arab countries, in a contribution aimed at enhancing foreign investment through regulatory and legislative measures that would ensure an environment of proper legal light for business. The findings stress respect for these regulations in terms of protecting citizens’ rights when dealing with acts of foreign technology companies, promoting real competition likely to inject growth into the domestic economy.
