In the context of the diversity of ways of producing knowledge that fall under the label of social psychology, this section considers five chapters that constitute a sample of this field in Latin America. To contextualize and discuss these chapters within the production that takes place at the regional and global level, it is argued that the diversity of ways of conceiving what, at a historical moment, can be considered social psychology leads to de-essentializing it, as well as considering that the delimitations of social psychology focused on the practices carried out by psychologists show a greater breadth to include what is done in the peripheral worlds of psychology.
