This paper investigates the design parameters of speed breakers and proposes the adoption of smart speed bumps to curb over-speeding automobiles, a critical issue contributing to road accidents in India. It outlines the shortcomings of conventional speed breakers and advocates for fluid speed breakers as a superior alternative. These speed breakers utilize pressure on a material strip, with fluid providing resistance, allowing smooth driving at low speeds while acting as a rigid obstruction at higher speeds. Cost analysis shows fluid speed breakers are 34.57% more cost-effective. Simulations using ANSYS and SolidWorks assess material response to vehicle stress. Challenges in implementation and health concerns related to cement speed breakers are discussed. Overall, non-Newtonian fluid speed breakers are highlighted as a significant advancement over traditional ones, offering improved traffic management and safety.

摘要
