The present research aims to identify the effectiveness of a proposed program using digital mind maps to develop artistic taste among students with special needs at the Faculty of Specific Education, Sohag University. To achieve this objective, the researcher adopted the quasi-experimental approach based on designing a single group consisting of (21) students, to which the research tool (i.e. art appreciation scale) was applied before and after teaching the proposed program. Statistical processing was carried out for the participants’ scores. The results showed that the proposed program in art education using mind maps promoted art appreciation of the students with special needs at the Faculty of Specific Education. The research recommended prioritizing art appreciation when teaching art education, using modern teaching methods in teaching arts and avoiding traditional methods.
