Exploring Consumer Perceptions of Electric Vehicle Sustainability: A Multidimensional Analysis
摘要
The purpose of this study is to investigate how consumers view Electric Vehicle (EV) sustainability from four key viewpoints: social, financial, environmental, and general. A representative sample of twenty EV owners from various Jordanian regions and backgrounds was chosen using a purposive sampling technique. Current EV owners with at least six months of ownership experience were the selection criteria. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with customers to gain a thorough grasp of their attitudes and difficulties with regard to EVs. Interviews took place in person, over the phone, or by video conference, based on what worked best for the participants. With the participant’s permission, each interview was taped and lasted roughly 30–45 min. Thematic analysis was performed to explore recurring themes and patterns pertaining to general, financial, social, and environmental perceptions as well as challenges encountered. In conclusion, the study shed light on critical areas that need attention such as EVs information awareness, charging infrastructure, training and maintenance services. The findings of the study will assist manufacturers, policymakers, and other stakeholders in the EV ecosystem to align their plans with consumer expectations, which promotes the overall adoption of EVs. This study offers thorough insights into consumers’ attitudes and concerns about the sustainability of EVs, making a significant contribution to the field and influencing future marketing and legislative initiatives.
