The study aimed to achieve several objectives, focusing on the role of Bahraini audiences’ exposure to media in raising awareness and educating individuals on various issues, including the phenomenon of violence against women. The study’s goals included investigating the relationship between the Bahraini public’s exposure to media and their knowledge of violence against women, identifying the patterns of media exposure among Bahraini audiences and how this exposure correlates with their understanding of violence against women, and assessing the level of interest in following topics related to violence against women. The study also sought to determine the primary sources Bahraini audiences rely on for information about violence against women and examine the relationship between their interest in this issue and their knowledge of it. Additionally, the study explored the attitudes of the Bahraini public towards violence against women, considering socioeconomic factors, and examined the forms and causes of violence against women in Bahraini society, shedding light on the public’s level of interest in the topic. The results showed that the most prominent and widely relied upon media for obtaining information were satellite channels, followed by newspapers, television, radio, and magazines. The main reason the sample followed the media was to gain information, understand their surroundings, and interpret ongoing events. Furthermore, eliminating ambiguity on various issues and presenting objective perspectives were key factors that motivated the sample to follow the media. The most preferred topics for the sample to follow through the media were religious programs, followed by social programs, and then drama (both Arabic and foreign).
