Exploring the Influence of Personality Traits on Knowledge Sharing Behavior Among Academicians in HEIs: A Comparative Study of Conscientiousness and Agreeableness
摘要
Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), as knowledge-centric organizations, consider Knowledge Management (KM) as their primary means of gaining a competitive advantage. However, Knowledge Sharing strategies face challenges in sustaining effectiveness, particularly when academicians exhibit varying Personality Traits (PT), i.e., Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism respond differently to the motivation for voluntarily sharing their knowledge. HEIs need to foster Knowledge Sharing Behaviors (KSB) with the support of the Prosocial Value Motive (PVM) as an influencing factor. However, not all academics respond similarly. This study examines the impact of Personality Traits (PT) on KSB to understand how each PT influences VKSB differently for sustained KSB.
