This study aimed to investigate the role of big data analytics in improving the use of Balanced Scorecards (BSC) in Palestinian banks. In order to achieve this objective the researchers utilized a field study of 15 banks currently operating in Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT). The field study is based on extensive review of literature on big data analytics and balanced scorecard in banks operating in different parts of the world. This helped develop a questionnaire which was distributed to 75 executives who possess suitable level of knowledge of the topic, whereas 60 forms were retrieved and analyzed using SPSS to test hypothesis. The results indicate that big data analytics revolutionized the use of balanced scorecard through adaption of technology in all of its dimensions, where the dimension related to customers had the strongest positive relationship. The results also suggest that there is a strong relationship between big data analytics and balanced scorecard use in performance appraisal. The study recommends full adaption of big data analytics in banks as it helps bring additional investors as well as using big data analytics to evaluate banks’ intangible assets and budgeting for financial performance in the future.
