However, the structural composition of the vegetation is also essential for the occurrence of animals. Various methods can be used to describe the structure, enabling a quantitative comparison of study sites. Locations are specified using the global positioning system (GPS). Recently, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been increasingly used as conservation drones to survey wildlife in an area and for the spatial and phenological recording of the vegetation cover. The locations and movements of tagged animals can be tracked using radio telemetry and other tracking methods. Various applications are described in detail.
