The paper presents the experimental test rig, constructed according to the designed solution. The methodology of experimental test for finding the coefficient of static friction is based on measuring the inclination angle of the plane for which the sliding body starts moving. The coefficient of dynamic friction is found under the assumption of constant friction force, measuring the sliding time between two limits. A pair of steel-aluminum materials is tested and the values obtained for the coefficients agree to some literature values. The roughness of the surfaces was established by laser profilometry, for detailed testing parameters.
