In this paper, the authors present a research study on hybrid terrestrial mobile robots. The authors propose a reconfigurable whegs-wheel locomotion unit design. They propose an original design for a mobile robot equipped with two active locomotion units and a passive wheel. Details are presented about the robot design and locomotion process. The simulation of the locomotion process is performed in Matlab. The proposed robot design allows the achievement of multimodal locomotion.

摘要

In this paper, the authors present a research study on hybrid terrestrial mobile robots. The authors propose a reconfigurable whegs-wheel locomotion unit design. They propose an original design for a mobile robot equipped with two active locomotion units and a passive wheel. Details are presented about the robot design and locomotion process. The simulation of the locomotion process is performed in Matlab. The proposed robot design allows the achievement of multimodal locomotion.
