With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and its integration into educational environments, understanding the impact of AI-assisted learning on long-term knowledge retention has become crucial for higher education institutions. This paper explores the differences between classical learning, which primarily relies on written texts and oral lectures, and AI-assisted learning, which incorporates AI technologies and multimedia elements. By examining the strengths and weaknesses of each approach, we aim to provide recommendations for academic staff to mitigate potential challenges and leverage the advantages of both methods, ultimately enhancing long-term knowledge retention among students.
