Hyperloop Routes Optimisation Considering Barren Soil, Case of Latvia
摘要
This study investigates the optimisation of Hyperloop routes through barren soils in Latvia, aimed at leveraging underutilised land to minimise environmental impact and promote sustainable infrastructure. Methodology for Hyperloop route construction considering barrel soils is proposed based on USA Swiftube Hyperloop development plans for Latvia. Source of data for study is Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem. Solution utilizes Binary Integer Programming and Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis to identify optimal routes, maximising barren soil utilisation. The result demonstrates 35.4% improved efficiency compared to non-optimised route and 162.2% towards optimisation without considering barren soils. Optimised total barren soil coverage is 402.08 km against 340.18 km and 111 km, correspondingly. The selected routes strategically utilize areas of barren soil to minimize environmental impact on fertile lands. Key connections such as Riga to Jelgava and Daugavpils to Rezekne play crucial roles in ensuring that the network is both efficient and sustainable. Proposed methodology highlights the benefits of integrating environmental data into transport planning, aligning with EU soil conservation strategies 2030, and contributing to UN SDG 9, SDG 12 and SDG 13.
