Christina Hansdotter Brask, Birgittine nun in Vadstena from 1459 to 1520, was the most prolific female scribe of the Swedish Middle Ages. Her hand can be identified in almost 20 manuscripts, often in collaboration with younger sisters, and it has been assumed that she had some supervisory role in the sisters’ book production.
