Helene Kottannerin: Memoirs
摘要
The late Middle Ages witnessed the emergence of women writers embracing different genres: for example, the autobiographical writing in England of Margery Kempe, and memoirs, as in the case of Helene Kottannerin. Thus, individual gifted laywomen were finally able to express themselves and catapult themselves into the public discourse. Helene enjoys great respect today because she played a significant role in high politics regarding the Hungarian crown and the Habsburg dynasty and as the author of her personal reflections about her accomplishments in the service to Queen Elisabeth of Habsburg.
