Convent Drama
摘要
There is evidence of drama being performed in the religious houses of women across Europe. The performative activities in such houses were varied: some involved festive games, revels, singing, dancing, and plays; others were part of the liturgy but had drama-like features; and some resembled more closely what would be considered drama today. They could be in Latin or the vernacular, spoken or sung. In some cases, it seems that the women religious themselves composed and copied these works. They often used existing material but transformed it to fit the needs of their religious house.
