Women are fundamental to any discussion of the Mabinogi, a group of four Middle Welsh prose tales of the medieval period. As the medieval texts and their modern editions show, the Mabinogi are texts about women, translated and disseminated by women. Although there is not yet a convincing case for female authorship of the texts, feminist analysis of the Mabinogi is a highly productive avenue of research.
