IBD services must be committed to working in partnership with patients, the public, and local communities to ensure that their services are both relevant and responsive to local needs. Providing an excellent experience for patients, staff, and service users should be central to any services’ objectives. Therefore, listening to the views of patients, visitors, and staff helps to better understand what is going right and what needs to be improved to change patients’ experiences for the better. Coproduction is a fundamental part of quality improvement, acknowledged across health services and within inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) care and requires background knowledge, strategic planning, and communication across the whole IBD team.
