This chapter exploreshow comedian Sabhuku Vharazipi uses comedy to ridicule the political elite in Zimbabwe through the figure of a corrupt andsexually loose headman who uses his position to embezzle government aid and sexually violate helpless women who depend on himfor survival especially in times of drought. The behaviour of the village headman exemplifies that of the President who uses hisposition to loot public funds and appoint his cronies and relatives to positions of power. I argue that Sabhuku Vharazipi’s comediesare visceral attacks on those that wield political power in Zimbabwe, especially in rural communities.
