Total quality management (TQM), which is about ensuring complete measurable quality in corporate spaces, is considered a very crucial and critical component of broadcasting as Nigeria’s broadcasting is among the pioneering conventional electronic media experience on the African continent. Due to the heightened need for broadcast productivity, the broadcast media industry was deregulated to encompass private productions. Since then, the importance of contemporary managerial knowledge in broadcasting alongside factors that are expected to facilitate effective management is lauded. Besides meeting the challenges of contemporary media competition, broadcast productivity management and broadcast capacity auditing ought to add and lead to optimal broadcast value for audiences. Hence, this chapter provides enhanced conceptual consideration of the connection between the history of broadcasting in Nigeria, the essence of continued improvement of broadcast production competence, as well as the relative understanding of the use of TQM in broadcast organisations. Theoretically couched by Theory X-Y spectrum, this chapter dominantly notes that TQM is a strong and necessary management endeavour that is apparently applicable, either consciously or otherwise, in every organisation and ought to rather strategically be applied to broadcast organisation management in Nigeria.

摘要
