Molecular marker-assisted selection has significantly reduced the time required to bring new crop varieties to market. Developments in molecular plant breeding, plant genetics, genomic selection, and genome editing have enhanced our knowledge of DNA markers and confirmed the genetic diversity among fruit-bearing plants. Markers are discernible attributes of an organism that are readily observable and can be utilised to trace qualities in a mapping population. They can be characterised as heritable entities associated with economically significant characteristics and regulated by numerous genes. Molecular markers have diverse applications in enhancing fruit crops. They also provide new opportunities for plant breeders, especially in gene mapping, classification, and evolutionary study. The aim of this study is to provide a concise overview of the most recent advancements in DNA markers in fruiting crops.

摘要
