Rather than summarizing or commenting on Foucault’s analyses of reason of state and biopolitics, on the birth of liberalism and neoliberalism, this last chapter will simply demonstrate how the celebrated investigations of Security, Territory, Population and The Birth of Biopolitics constitute, in their own way, a genealogy of bureaucratic administration and the rule of law. These original analyses provide a fresh perspective on the classical historical sociology of bureaucracy—including the neoliberal bureaucracy.

摘要

Rather than summarizing or commenting on Foucault’s analyses of reason of state and biopolitics, on the birth of liberalism and neoliberalism, this last chapter will simply demonstrate how the celebrated investigations of Security, Territory, Population and The Birth of Biopolitics constitute, in their own way, a genealogy of bureaucratic administration and the rule of law. These original analyses provide a fresh perspective on the classical historical sociology of bureaucracy—including the neoliberal bureaucracy.
